The examination Start German 1 completes the first level - A1 - of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. This level is reached after 120-160 teaching hours.
You are able to understand and use familiar, everyday expressions and very easy sentences that are aimed at satisfying specific needs. You can introduce yourself and others as well as ask questions about other people. You can make yourself understood in a basic sense when the person you are talking to speaks slowly and clearly and is ready to help.
The examination consists of different parts: hearing, reading, written expression and an oral group examination. The complete examination takes about 80 mins. The examination Start German 1/Start German Z 1 serves as the intermittent examination in integration courses and is important documentation for your CV that you have reached an elementary level of German.
